Download SecretVault from the Mac App Store and follow the installation prompts. The app will be installed in your Applications folder.
No, we cannot reset your master password. This is by design for maximum security. If we could reset it, attackers could too. Your data is encrypted with your master password and cannot be recovered without it. We strongly recommend keeping a backup of your master password in a secure physical location.
Your encrypted database is stored at:
~/Library/Application Support/SecretVault/secretvault.db
You can copy this file to any backup location (external drive, USB stick, etc.). To restore, copy the file back to this location.
No. SecretVault is designed for privacy and offline use. Data is stored locally on each Mac and does not sync via cloud. This is intentional to ensure your data never leaves your control.
Yes! Your App Store purchase works on all your Macs. However, the data on each Mac will be separate (no automatic sync). You can manually transfer the database file if needed.
Use the built-in export feature in SecretVault to export your data to a JSON file. This can be used for backup or migration purposes.
Currently, SecretVault is macOS only. We're focused on providing the best possible Mac experience first.
Refunds are handled through Apple's App Store. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select SecretVault to request a refund within Apple's refund policy timeframe (typically 14 days).

No! SecretVault works completely offline. You only need internet to download it from the App Store initially.
Updates are delivered through the Mac App Store. Open the App Store, go to the Updates tab, and install any available updates for SecretVault. All updates are free.
