• Personal Information: We don't collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any identifying information.

3. How SecretVault Works

3.1 Local Storage Only

• All your data is stored locally on your Mac in an encrypted SQLite database
• Database location: ~/Library/Application Support/SecretVault/
• Data never syncs to cloud services
• Data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it

3.2 Encryption

• All secrets are encrypted using AES-256-GCM before being stored
• Your master password is hashed using bcrypt and never stored
• Each secret has a unique encryption key derived from your master password
• Encryption and decryption happen entirely on your device

3.3 No Network Communication

• The App blocks all external network connections
• No API calls to our servers or third-party services
• Works completely offline
• No internet connection required after installation

4. Data You Control

You have complete control over your data:

4.1 Your Database

• You can manually back up your database file
• You can delete your database at any time
• You can export your data from the App
• You own your data completely

4.2 Email Field

• The "email" field during account creation is just a username for local authentication
• It doesn't need to be a real email address
• It's stored locally in your encrypted database
• We never see or receive this information

5. App Store Information

When you download SecretVault from the Mac App Store:

• Apple may collect purchase information (not shared with us)
• Apple's privacy policy applies to App Store transactions
• We only receive aggregated, anonymous sales statistics from Apple
• We cannot identify individual purchasers
