Password Folder is designed with privacy as the core principle. Unlike cloud-based password managers, we take a fundamentally different approach:

• Your data never leaves your device
• We collect zero personal information
• No analytics or telemetry of any kind
• No user accounts or registration
• No internet connection required

Data Storage

All your passwords, secrets, and files are stored locally on your Mac using:

• Local Database: Your encrypted data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device
• AES-256-GCM Encryption: All sensitive data is encrypted using military-grade encryption
• PBKDF2 Key Derivation: Your master password is never stored; only a cryptographically secure hash

What We Don't Collect

We want to be absolutely clear about what we DO NOT collect:

• No personal information (name, email, phone number)
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No crash reports (unless you explicitly choose to send them)
• No device information
• No IP addresses or location data
• No cookies or tracking technologies

Third-Party Services

Password Folder does not use any third-party services, analytics platforms, or external APIs. The application functions entirely offline without any external dependencies.

Data Security

Security is our top priority:

• All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM
• Master password is protected with PBKDF2 (100,000 iterations)
• Auto-lock feature after 15 minutes of inactivity
• Rate-limited login attempts to prevent brute force attacks
• No backdoors or recovery mechanisms (if you lose your master password, your data cannot be recovered)

Your Rights

Since we don't collect any personal data, traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability) are not applicable. However, you have complete control over your data:

• All data is stored locally on your device
• You can export your data at any time
• You can delete the application and all associated data
• No data is retained by us after deletion

Children's Privacy

Password Folder does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since we don't collect any personal information at all, our service can be used by anyone without privacy concerns.
